Literature Text

The girl sat on the floor of the candle lit room, her head resting against the cold hard wall behind her as tears dripped from her eyes, like a steady pour of rain.
The light from the flickering candle glistened off the tear drops, refracting and dispersing itself into small delicate rainbows of colour that danced around in her eyes.
She had been removed from her room, forced into a lifeless room with her happiness forced to make itself absence by her father, a man who couldn't stand to see anyone happy.

She had suffered a life with her father, where he had forced happiness out of every bone in her body, just because he could. That was the first sword in her heart.
Then she had discovered the true nature of her fiancé, a man she had once loved but now proved to be violently possessive of anything he believed to be his property. That was the second sword in her heart.
And finally she had witnessed the man who had stolen her heart beaten to death in front of her, before she had been locked in this pitifully small and soulless room. That was the third and final sword in her heart.

For too long she had sat by and let herself be manipulated, but she was scared of what might happen if she turn against her fathers wishes.
Her body was divided in too, her heart willing her to just be brave for once in her life. To break out and to turn against her fathers wishes. To leave the manor where she had been trapped.

Her relationship with her father had ruptured long ago and nothing would fix that. She had just been delaying the inevitable with her attempts at pleasing him, and now she was trapped, locked behind a door in her own home.
She didn't know how should could escape, but she promised herself that eventually she would!

Sighing, she turned her head, hearing the door unlock as fresh fears began outing down her face.
